„Woke Alexander“

AT in the 21st. Century with JEREMY CHANCE update for AT Teachers concerning Science, Emotions and Finances

Take the CHANCE
from 21. – 23. April 2023 in Dortmund

Organized by ATD – Berufsverband der Lehrer und Lehrerinnen für Alexander-Technik Deutschland e.V.

The workshop will be held in English with translation into German.

Friday, 21.04.2023 – 13:00 ~ 17:00

The power of neuroscience while teaching the AT

Jeremy’s work is based on neuroscience and over 50 years of practice. He is convinced that optimising your Alexander thinking through scientific knowledge will benefit your being. Explore with him and the group how you can use this input to increase your effectiveness as a teacher. The afternoon will include practical exercises, one-to-one conversations, lectures with interactive feedback and a comprehensive handout to support your discoveries.

Saturday, 22.04.2023 – 10:00 ~ 13:00

Successful navigation through activity lessons

Teaching without form is an exciting adventure! Discover how to create unique lesson plans based on your students‘ concerns and questions that are fun, engaging and satisfying. Jeremy demonstrates this through numerous activity lessons. Please bring questions, a concern or a learning challenge to the workshop. Each activity lesson will be analysed using a unique ‚Navigator‘ icon that captures the dynamics of breakthrough lessons.

Saturday, 22.04.2023 – 15:00 ~ 18:00

Development of an effective 1-second Alexander Plan

Continuation from the morning – how can you teach your students to successfully combine Alexander thinking in a complex activity? „I don’t have time to remember anything“ is a common complaint. Discover how you can help your students ease their way to completion by developing their ‚1-second Alexander plan‘ with them – and you your own!

Sunday, 23.04.2023 – 9:00 ~ 12:30

Finding and retaining AT clientele

This will be a session of ‚hotseats‘ – Jeremy will address many of the common challenges you face in building and maintaining a successful practice. Prepare your questions and volunteer for coaching. Jeremy has coached some of the most successful Alexscovery teachers in the world, based on his amazing success in building the first multi-million dollar Alexander School in Japan. Includes lectures, handouts and individual coaching.

Sunday, 23.04.2023 – 14:00 ~ 17:00

Charming shades of being you

Building on the harmony and trust built over the last two days, Jeremy invites you to explore deeper issues that hinder your ability to be as wonderful as you want to be. Beliefs can limit growth, and exploring them requires vulnerability – and trust in a safe space to explore them. Jeremy will reintroduce the ’navigator‘ from Saturday morning’s session in a new form for this personal work.
